Power up your computer by pressing the button that looks like a broken circle with a slash down through the break until you see one or several little lights.
Proper way of shutting down:
Start/turn off computer/turn off
Frozen keyboard/display: Control&Alt&Delete
Click on ‘end task’
Final solution: hold down power button on the CPU (see vocabulary below) until system shuts down. Wait 2 minutes and restart.

Three kinds of clicks:
one left click on a word or group of words, picture etc. selects or highlights a word or words.
another click or two left clicks: selects and opens an application, document, website etc.
right click a word, words, picture, application, icon brings up a menu of actions you can choose.
Anti virus: figure out what you have. Is it updating itself and scanning your computer and isolating viruses? Call FAST or 3278 to get some help in identifying your antivirus application and making sure it is working properly.
Larger text almost anywhere: ctrl +++ (ctrl bottom left corner of keyboard)
Smaller text or return to normal: ctrl
(plus and minus signs are in the second row on keyboard at the right near the backspace key)
World Wide Web (www) the great ocean of information, misinformation, invisible and ever growing.
Web Browser: Internet explorer or Firefox or AOL. These are applications that allow you to travel the world wide web.
Search engine: Google, Yahoo and many others allow you to find what you are looking for by sorting information into links to topics.
Type questions (how to) topics, proper nouns into the search window and click Go or "Google Search" or touch Enter on your keyboard.
Internet: the highway that the information travels on, at your command, to your computer (hopefully).
